Prof. Dr. Rudolf Bauer: Head of the Institute of Pharmacognosy, expert in phytochemical and pharmacological investigations of the active principles of medicinal plants and in phytochemical analysis of herbal preparations.

The Institute of Pharmacognosy concentrates its research on phytochemical and pharmacological investigations on plant-based medicinal products. It has long experience in the isolation, analysis and identification of natural products. It also has extensive expertise in the use and further development of pharmacological in vitro testing methods based on non-animal testing. Prof. Bauer is president of the Society for medicinal plant research.
